This 1975 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead Is a Cool & Simple Custom

Simple Custom

In a world of complex technology, an overwhelming amount of information, and some seriously over complicated methods of transportation, there’s something to be said for simplicity. I for one have a deep appreciation for old vehicles for this very reason – simple is easy to fix, and there are a lot less things that can go wrong in the first place.

Simple Custom

Those same ideas can certainly be applied to vintage Harley’s like this 1975 Shovelhead. There’s no fancy fuel injection here, no digital gauges or high wattage stereo, and certainly no airbag suspension. It’s just a cool and simple custom.

This old-school Shovelhead was a complete tear down and rebuild project just around 3 years ago, at which time everything was painted or powder-coated. The engine is stock, save for a Mikuni carb, as is the 4-speed transmission. Things you won’t find on this bike? Speedometer, odometer, horn, or other “frivolous” parts.

Simple Custom

It does, however, have some cool custom touches and lots of Indian Larry parts. The seat in particular is a very cool piece that is very unique. This simple custom proves once again that you don’t have to have a lot of fancy parts, or spend a bunch of money to have a cool and unique bike.
