Buying a bike from a private seller is a complicated process. From showing up at a set place and time to going through a thorough inspection, there’s a lot of red flags to look for.

Then comes the haggling bit. The seller is probably asking for more than they really want, since they know that they will have to go down on their price a bit. But, really, how low can you go? HDForums member Clayton, who is also known by his username flyboyslc, managed to get the price lowered by a total of one thousand dollars on his latest purchase, and it seems like he did a great job!

The ride is a 2008 Harley-Davidson Fat Bob, and now it’s entered the chopping block. Clayton has already begun tearing off pieces from the ride to make it more his own, including the saddle bags and the sissy bar. His goal seems to be to simply getting running 100% properly and modifying it here and there to make it his own. Overall, we’d say it’s coming along great so far!
