2009 Harley Davidson Crossbones Softail Review: Engine, Styling, and Performance

The 2009 Harley Davidson Crossbones is a softail Harley with the legendary look of post-war ear bobber style and appeal. The Springer front end, classic ape-hanger handlebars, and a chopped front fender will make your senses think you've travelled back on your Harley to a simpler time.
The designers of the 2008 Harley Davidson Crossbones included a rigid-mounted Twin Cam 96B engine with 96 cu inches of displacement and 87.9 ft lbs of torque @ 2750 rpm. They also included a chrome, Shotgun Slash-cut exhaust with dual mufflers, Horseshoe style oil tank, primary chain drive with a ratio of 34/46 and Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection with the 2008 Harley Davidson Crossbones. Along with all of this the designers have incorporated black, laced steel wheels and single-piston front and 2-piston rear brakes.

The 2009 Harley Davidson Crossbones is available in four vivid and eye-catching colors; dark blue pearl, black denim, vivid black and pewter denim. An electronic speedometer with odometer is tank mounted on this Harley and this motorcycle includes a trip meter, low fuel indicator light, engine diagnostics and the option to enhance the security of your 2009 Harley Davidson Crossbones with Security System 6.

The 2009 Harley Davidson Crossbones is a long 90.5 inches in total length, sits 30.1 inches from the ground at seat height, has a ground clearance of 4.9 inches, a wheelbase of 64.5 inches and weights 737 lbs. The 2009 Harley Davidson Crossbones also comes with a 5.0 gallon fuel tank and a 3.5 qt oil tank and has a fuel rating of 54 mpg on the highway and 35 mpg in the city.

Ride a Crossbones? What are your thoughts on the bike whether you've ridden one or seen one? Thinking of switching to this Softail or perhaps upgrading to the new model?
