Buying a new ride can be, well, intimidating. Especially if it hasn’t been long since you got your last bike and the trade-in value you’re being offered seems to be much lower than one would expect. Of course, that doesn’t mean that your desire for a new and improved ride has disappeared, but, rather, that you may need to find another way to get there. While one of the available options may be to just wait a little longer and get some extra cash together, another would be to work with what you’ve got. After all, building up a slightly older ride to have all the features of the newer one isn’t a bad choice. And, let’s be honest, it’s a lot cheaper!

HDForums member Bobby, who is also known by his username Bobby12012, has recently taken on a build for this very reason. He wanted to purchase a 2016 Harley-Davidson Street Glide, but his 2013 Dyna Super Glide just wasn’t worth enough in trade-in value. Thus, instead of trying to make ends meet, he decided to put the money that he would’ve spent on the new ride into his old one. Thus, “Project Rushmore” began!

Bobby has now finished his build, and it looks absolutely amazing! Just to name a few things that he’s done, the Super Glide now has Fat Bobs trees, Touring lowers, a Progressive lowering kit, a Chrome Freewheeler front wheel, grip switches for the radio controls, a 2016 Road Glide front fender, 2016 CVO Street Glide handle bars, and much more!
