Amateur Jumps His Harley-Davidson Sportster 883

It doesn’t take a genius to realize that jumping your Harley-Davidson motorcycle may not be a good idea. Of course, this is not including those few who may be stuntmen or other professions in which bike jumping may take place.

However, as a regular person with a regular road-worthy bike, would jumping it be a good idea? This video answers that question quite well, and is definitely fun to watch!

This clip takes place in Fort Worth, Texas and involves a guy jumping his Sportster 883 out of a drainage bank in the area. The first jump goes okay, so he decides to take another shot at it. After all, if it ain’t broke, then why stop? Of course, they seem to be forgetting the idea of cutting their losses!

On the second jump it is actually impressive that the rider stayed on his bike, but he spun the left peg and broke the right one out of the sprocket cover. The headlight glass also fell out and broke. Though not serious damage, these guys got away pretty lucky. If a jump that small could cause damage, then what about a bigger one?
