Actors should be seen and not heard for the most part. Your average actor is out of touch with everyday life but sometimes you run into some smart and intelligent people who stay grounded. The “Duke” was one such man, Ronald Reagan was a far better legislator than he was an actor, and maybe we can add Keanu Reeves to the list?

Keanu’s pet project is a collaboration with Gard Hollinger called Arch Motorcycle Company. They have designed and built a production motorcycle called the KRGT-1. There are some seriously unique touches on this motorcycle that is decidedly low tech compared to the big manufacturers offerings yet provides style and performance. Sadly for a very large price tag.

The engine is an Arch proprietary S&S Cycle 124ci/2032cc V-Twin, producing 121.53hp. Baker provides the 6-speed transmission, there is a custom compact high torque main shaft, and right-side drive for better balance. It’s claimed to be make approximately 122ft/lbs of torque to the wheel.

The gas tank is machined from a solid chunk of aluminum by the Arch team; according to the website it requires 66 hours of work alone to produce a tank. Other components, including the frame and swingarm, are hand-built. The bike has a dry weight of 538 pounds. One of the more interesting and unique pieces is the downdraft intake system. Positioned between the fuel cells this design increases streamlining, reduces bulk, and makes for a more comfortable ride for the rider.

Any way you pitch the bike is interesting, stylish, and pricey. Only time will tell if they succeed but we are all for having more motorcycles rather than less.
