The Hottest Harley-Davidson Builds of 2016

Extra 1-5

We really do love Harley-Davidson motorcycles. We love how they look, how they ride, and how they perform. And, as one might presume, we love it when someone takes the time to build one up.

Whether it’s a ground-up rebuild or a touch up here and there, every form of a build is worth looking at with a smile. After all, it often seems like the art of working on one’s own ride is slowly fading away. It’s good to see that there are still people out there who take the time to perfect their bike and make it more of their own!

This is why today we feel the need to bring some attention to the best builds that have turned up here on HDForums so far this year. From appearance modifications to thorough repairs and more, there is certainly a lot to see!

Starting with the ride that comes in fifth out of our top five builds, which is the 2010 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Lo build that has been taken on by John, who is better known by his username Juppies. With a few cosmetic upgrades already in place when he bought the ride, John has been working hard to add his own touches to the bike and make it more fully his own! The build is moving steadily, and a great deal of progress has been made since his original feature! Stop by John’s build thread and check out what’s going on!

Extra 1-4

Coming in fourth in the lineup is the 2013 Harley-Davidson Iron 883 build that has been taken on by KerryS85. Last we left off, he had added new pipes, chopped about four inches off the rear fender gutted the plastics, performed a tank lift, relocated the coil and ignition, slapped on some ammo cans, changed the shocks to 10″ struts, and much, much more! Nonetheless, KerryS85 has already moved on from this point and has done a great deal more to his ride!

Extra 1-3

Finding itself in third place is HDForums member Jake, who is also known by his username 02LadyJusticeFXDX, with his 2002 Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide Sport build. This build is interesting in the way that Jake added a few of his own touches after initially purchasing it, and then rode it for a year.

It was then that he wiped out on a gravel patch, and decided that it was a good opportunity to build up the ride. Though it was already coming along well when we featured the ride back in early May, more progress has already been made!

Extra 1-2

The runner up in this ranking in member Eggman1 with his 2007 Harley-Davidson Road King Police build. Having operated for nine years as a police bike, it is only to be expected that when Eggman1 got his hands on it some work would need to be done! In addition to making repairs, he has also been working to make the ride more his own! We definitely can’t wait to see where it goes!

Extra 1-1

Finally, making it into first place in the lineup, is 509rider with his 2013 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Vicla build. Just as you may have guessed, the purpose of this ride is to turn it into a Vicla, which is a style that is particularly popular on the west coast, primarily in California. 509rider had already done a fair amount of work on it when we last featured him in February, but the progress is absolutely outstanding!

All of these rides are wonderful, and there were certainly many more out there that came close to making the cut! We wish good luck to anyone out there pursuing a Harley-Davidson build of their own, and encourage you all to go and show your support to all of these users who are working very hard on their rides!
