Bikers Against Child Abuse: Doing Good One Child at a Time

Extra 2 - 1

Child abuse is one of the worst things that goes on in our world, and no one disagrees with that. After all, children should never be victimized in any way. Many programs are in place to prevent, assist, and care for those who have undergone such abuses.

One of these groups might seem unusual to some, but they have made a huge impact across the country and continue to do so everyday. This group is BACA — Bikers Against Child Abuse.

Most people view bikers as big and scary. Some even go as far to associate them with criminals or conductors of organized crime. In reality, this is rarely true.

Many bikers spend time helping raise fund for charities, volunteering their time, or even being part of the organization itself.

The guys and girls of BACA are certainly one of the best examples of bikers who go above and beyond their call in order to help those around them.

What this group does is actually quite simple, though it might now seem that way at first. After all, bikers don’t seem to mesh well with the idea of child abuse victims, at least in the minds of most.

Nonetheless, when BACA receives a call twenty-five bikers take off on their loud and proud machines and head out to the given home, drawing the attention of the entire neighborhood quite easily. Upon arriving, they give the child a vest of their own and let them know that they, this massive group of bad-ass bikers, has their back. And this works wonders.

According to BACA, a child supported through their program is four times more likely to testify against their attacker in court. After all, their friends are definitely “scarier” than their attacker!

After the initial ride out BACA assigns to bikers to follow up with the child weekly, and they make sure that all is continuing to go well for them.

It’s hard to think of anything much better than the look on a child’s face when a pack of motorcycles rides up to their home just to support them.
