Harley Riders Part of Over 100 Bikers that Gathered to Wish Young Motorcyclist Enthusiast a Happy and LOUD Birthday

In a world filled with bad news and bad people, it’s nice to have an escape like motorcycling to clear your head and de-stress. It’s even better when you can leverage your hobby to brighten someone else’s day. And it’s beneficial to folks like us, who can raise our spirits by reading about it. The U.K.’s Daily Mail recently covered a great story about Harley riders coming together with fellow motorcyclists for a good cause.

Like a lot of kids, 13-year-old Zane Evans of Bunbury, Western Australia, is fascinated with motorcycles — especially the big, loud cruisers we love. However, Zane is different from other kids, and faces a struggle most of us could never imagine living with. Zane has cerebral palsy.

Bikers Rev for a Very Special Cause

For his 13th birthday, Zane’s mother, Kiera Evans, wanted to surprise him, and she put out a simple request on Facebook:

“Does anybody have a super loud Harley or motorbike and is free tomorrow around lunch time? It’s our big guys 13th birthday tomorrow and boy is he in love with motor bikes. The louder the better!

“It would make his absolute day if you could pop by McDonald’s Eaton around 12.40 to give us a wave and a bit of a rev.”

Kiera and Zane got way more than they bargained for, as over 100 bikers gathered at the McDonald’s to wish young Zane a happy birthday. Some gave him gifts, including a Harley-Davidson tee-shirt and his very own motorcycle helmet, before serenading him with Happy Birthday (which we assume was punctuated by the percussive rumble of several uncorked V-twins)!

Kiera was touched by the display, and I’m sure that this is a birthday that Zane won’t soon forget. It just goes to show you that motorcyclists are some of the most warm-hearted people on the planet, ready to spring into action and share their passion at a moment’s notice.
