Brad Jones Racing and Harley-Davidson Join Forces

Australian supercars meet American muscle in new partnership that sees Harley’s iconic logo on high-profile speedsters.

Australian brothers Kim and Brad Jones of Brad Jones Racing (BJR) have secured another high-profile sponsor for their race team with Harley-Davidson. The cross section of race fans and motorcycle riders is a large one, so it should come as no surprise that the iconic American motorcycle company has eagerly signed on to sponsor BJR.

“We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Brad Jones Racing for the upcoming season,’ says Nigel Keough, Managing Director of Harley-Davidson Australia & New Zealand.

Founded in 2000, the highly successful team has won at every level they have raced, including AUSCAR, NASCAR, and production cars. Brad Jones, an avid motorcycle enthusiast, told the press that he has always dreamed of racing Harleys in America.

‘A motorcycle isn’t just a product, it’s an experience, [and] Harley-Davidson really connects with their customers in that respect.’

“For me, a motorcycle isn’t just a product, it’s an experience, [and] Harley-Davidson really connects with their customers in that respect,” he says. “…They produce unbelievable motorcycles, backed up by a group of people who really go that extra mile to help you out.”

Harley-Davidson began displaying branding on the Albury squad’s entries for Tim Slade (rear quarter panels) and Nick Percat (rear wing) at Clipsal 500. The deal is set to run throughout the 2017 campaign. In addition to the big news of the Harley-Davidson sponsorship, BJR also made headlines when the Holden car was unveiled recently. The rainbow-painted supercar will be driven by Percet to support equality during this week’s 2017 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, which kicked off on March 23. The street-based race in Albert Park runs through March 27.
