It’s a bit redundant to express the importance of wearing a helmet while riding any motorcycle. But when you start lifting wheels in the air and twisting them sideways in drifts? Helmets become even more important.

And what about when you’re riding through fire? Harley Stunt rider, King Tony, put the new Bell 500 helmet to the test while performing at the South Texas Motorcycle Expo in San Antonio, Texas. Riding a wheelie through fire, he grabbed a quick handful of rear brake and slammed the bike back down too hard, throwing him over the handlebars. The fall broke his arm, and the bike almost ran over him.

The important thing is he healed fine, and his helmet saved him from breaking his head too.

The accident damaged the BELL Custom 500 he was wearing. The Custom 500 with the old school look, but actual new-school safety has been the answer for those of us wearing vintage helmets, who still care for the health of our domes. You can check out the Custom 500 and lots more over on the official BELL site.
