BUILDUP A 2000 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Project

Sometimes the best way to get your hands on something you want is simply patience. This doesn’t apply to everything, of course (such as muscle cars, which have appreciated in value), but does tend to be the rule for most.

If you see something you love, then wait it out and you ought to be able to get it down within an affordable or decent price range. HDForums member mr.brass always wanted a Heritage Softail, so when he came across one from 2000 that just needed a bit of love and care, he scooped it up for a great deal.

Of course, more money has to go in to getting the bike where he needs, (or wants!) it to be. Pretty soon the bike with have bigger apes, Duels headers, and just about whatever else mr.brass feels like slapping on his ride. At the moment the hog is torn apart in order to do some bodywork, fill some holes, and — as I’m sure you guessed — for paint.
