BUILDUP A 1987 Sportster 883 Project

Sometimes it’s nice when one can just pick up a cheap ride to toy around with. One that you don’t have to worry about screwing up; that you can just tear into with the hope that something good will come of it.

HDForums member Mike (A.K.A. “Mike Lawless”) is currently working on a build such as this with his newly-purchased 1987 Sportster 883. It’s in sad shape right now and looks pretty bad, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be saved.

Among the crazy escapades that Mike has dealt with so far with the ride is when he moved to work with the wiring. Only three wires were hooked up, and all the black wires were completely disconnected. Still, Mike plans to rewire the entire thing anyway. He’s also started work on other aspects of the ride as well, so things are definitely progressing forward!
