BUILDUP A 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Project

The Harley-Davidson Sportster models have appeared to be gaining a lot of traction in recent years, and it is certainly deserved. Though these rides have been around since 1957, they are truly growing in popularity. One great example of this is the fact that these rides are demolishing past stereotypes about diversity, being that they are the most motorcycle choice for women riders.

But beyond just that, they are being used in more and more motor-sport activities year after year, from jumping to racing. Though all Harley-Davidson motorcycles are wonderful, there is something special about seeing a Sportster cruise down the road, and HDForums member Dustin (A.K.A. “DoubleTake“) recognized this.

Dustin recently took on building up his 2005 Sportster 1200, which also happens to be his first bike, and we’re definitely excited to see where it goes. He hopes to put on a 16″ rear spoke, 14″ ape hangars and smaller risers, chrome lowers, a solo seat, perform a coil and ignition relocation, new grips and pegs, and more! He also hopes to  chop the rear fender and pain the ride a light shade of blue.

He had already made some decent progress on the bike, and seems to be moving steadily through his build! Go check out his build thread and show your support!
