Harleys and Girls: Pics From Bike Week at Daytona Beach

Most of the time when stories about happenings in Florida go national, it’s because the news is just plain crazy or totally creepy.  But aside from the prevalence of lunatics, the Sunshine State is a great place to have a bike. Perfect weather means you can ride year round, there’s no helmet law, and every year, tons of Harley riders converge on Daytona Beach for Bike Week.

Ace motorcycle photographer Erick Runyon—ErickRunyonFotosMotos, GearsAndGlory, Discovery Channel’s Cafe Racer—made the trip this year, and he sent us a ton of great shots. As you can imagine, there was plenty of subject matter on hand, including a V8 chopper sporting straight pipes, this personable fellow, a spike-tastic side car setup and some cops who were riding the wrong kind of two-wheeler.

Check out his pics of the festivities below, or if you’re a desert-first kind of dude, jump to the pics of the girls.

Obviously, we asked for pictures of girls. In response, Erick send our editors this message:  “It was kind of cool that day, so the ‘girl pics’ were very hard to come by. Most of the girls which were out, you wouldn’t have wanted pics of.” But he still managed to capture some shots of the “talent”—as we say here in SoCal—on hand for the festivities.
