Custom Harley – LC Fabrications

By -

hdforums-harley-sportster-1Jeremy Cup started LC Fabrications in the hills of Virginia a few years ago as a means to bring back traditional metalworking and fabrication. A truly honorable and noble ideal, and one that I support wholeheartedly. It just so happens that he also wanted a strong focus on custom bikes and handmade parts production.

The Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 you see here is Jeremy’s latest build. He saved it from a wrecker’s yard after an accident that had written it off. A lot like the last bike I shared from Chappell Customs.hdforums-harley-sportster-2

Like all good builds the first thing the crew did was tear the bike apart. Like all good bikers the original 883 was given healthy shot of more power. An S&S 1250cc kit was swapped in. The S&S kit is a full replacement of almost every component except the cases. That meant the stock 883 output of ~45hp at the rear wheel jumped to ~99hp. Almost 100HP in a sportster chassis is a damn good time.

A custom looped frame was built in house, taking cues from the famous Norton Featherbed, using steel tubing. For those not familiar with the Norton Featherbed a quick Google search will tell you how that frame revolutionized handling and still sets a standard today for road manners and speed. That new frame was then paired with a new twin looped swing arm and Vincent-inspired twin shock rear. A pair of shaved and lowered Showa forks were used up front fitted with disc brakes all the way around. Plenty of whoah with that go.

A sexy split fuel tank was pulled from a Harley-Davidson Fat Bob, classic looks combined with modern performance. Once the seat and rear cowl had been fabbed and fitted new tires from Heidenau were fitted to the original Harley Davidson 19″ wheels.
