The next time anyone tells you you are too old to do this or do that, just point out these awesome grannies on motorcycles.

These three women, two hailing from the UK and the other Australia, fulfilled their lifelong dream of riding on a motorcycle. Thanks to local motorcycle chapters, these three women prove that it’s never too late to throw a leg over a motorcycle and grab life by the horns.

“I loved it,” Berryl Flood, 100, from Perth, Australia said. “I was a bit apprehensive about how I was going to get my leg over but it was great.”

Dave Gardener, a close relative of 80 year old Sheila Gardener from the UK said, “It went well, she had a good time and everyone turned up. The dealership was extremely good and they organized it [the ride] really well.

Sheila Gardener celebrates her 80th birthday with Harley Davidson riders in Reading.

Lastly, we have Kay Matthews, 97, from Cannock in Staffordshire was taken around the town by the Wolfruna Harley Davidson chapter.

“I just love them, these things,” said Matthews. “I wish I was born thirty years younger and I would have married a bloke with one.”

Kay Matthews on her 97th birthday talking about her experience riding on a motorcycle for the first time.

Someone should fill her in on the wonderful world of trikes so she can continue to ride herself.
