Across the Nation, Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Riders Joined Together to Deliver Good Cheer — and Gifts — to Families in Need

It’s the season of giving, and Harley enthusiasts all over the country are getting into the spirit. Riders from New York to California have been rallying together make the holidays brighter for kids everywhere.

For many motorcycle clubs, Christmas toy runs are a last hurrah, not only for riding season, but charity season as well. Like anything else, Harley fans like to go out with a bang.

Bundling up against the cold, Harley-Davidson riders have made it a yearly tradition to collect toys and cash donations for many HOG chapters and independent motorcycle clubs all over the USA. And it’s all for a great cause.

In Reno, Nevada, over 500 riders gathered for the 36th Annual Reno Toy Run. The event has been organized every year since 1980 by the Northern Nevada Confederation of Clubs. Each of the 500 riders brought a toy for a child, and they managed to raise $15,000, too! Way to go!

Ranch Harley-Davidson in College Station, Texas, spent a rainy Saturday delivering toys to 22 local families during its annual toy run. According to KBTX 3’s local news story about the event, the happy recipients were told that Santa was riding a Harley motorcycle so that his reindeer could rest for their long and busy Christmas Eve journey. Excellent work!

Rain, sleet, snow and 46-degree temperatures didn’t stop riders organized by Frazier’s Harley-Davidson in Buford, Georgia, from partaking in its 24th annual toy run. As reported by the Gainesville Times, several local businesses stepped up to donate thousands of dollars in cash on top of the riders’ toy donations. The proceeds will help the Chattahoochee Baptist Association give presents to sick children as part of its “Secret Santa” program. Good going!

Finally, in Wilmington, North Carolina, riders from Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson got together for its 24th annual toy drive. They showed up by the thousands to make this Christmas one to remember for local kids and their families. Hundreds of toys were donated, with over 160 of them being hand-assembled by the bikers themselves! Once again, great job, riders! Looks like Santa’s elves have some competition this year!

“It’s amazing,” Janice Noyes, co-owner of Carolina Coast Harley Davidson, tells local news station WWAY TV3. “Everyone’s heart warms up at this time of year and they really come out for this event.”

All of these stories of generosity are being repeated all over the country. Consequently, it just goes to show you that you often meet the nicest people on two wheels.
