Biketoberfest

Daytona Beach, Florida is the home of Biketoberfest. It might not be the most high profile biker rally around, but its low key nature translates to less crowd hassles and a lower cost. Besides, what’s not to like about Daytona Beach? The 2010 Edition is scheduled for October 14th to 17th.

The Four Corners

Where in the country can you stand at the border of four states? Only at the Four Corners. Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado all meet at one location. Take your Harley to the four corners and you’ll have a great ride and an interesting story. Although, summer of 2010 will see some closures. Be sure to check in advance to make sure you can get their before making the trip.

The Grand Canyon

How can you miss the Grand Canyon? It’s a sight everyone should behold at some time in life. Going there on your Harley will really let you experience it in a unique way.

Harley Davidson Factory Tour

Harley may have its origins in Milwaukee, WI, but the Kansas City, Missouri Harley Davidson factory offers tours that are sure to please Harley fans. It’s a great way to get a new appreciation for the history of the company and everything that goes into building a Harley. Best of all, it’s a free tour.

Harley Davidson Museum

Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the home of Harley Davidson and also the home of the Harley Davidson museum. Can there be any better way to visit the Harley museum than on a Harley? A new exhibit paying tribute to Evel Knievel will be featured at the museum for the summer of 2010. The exhibit will run from July 10th to September 6th.

Pacific Coast Highway

It’s not really a destination, but rather a route with many destinations. Whether you start in Washington and make your way to California, or take it in the other direction, the Pacific Coast Highway is considered to be one of the most beautiful drives in the country. That makes it perfect for a Harley Davidson excursion.

Route 66

Like the Pacific Coast Highway, this is less a destination and more a journey, but you can buy maps that show what’s left of the old route 66. Get on your bike and take a ride through history. Sure, most of the old road is gone, as is some of the charm, but you can still get the feel for the experience that was Route 66.

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

Nothing says, “Harley Davidson” quite like the annual rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. The 2010 version of the rally is the 70th anniversary of the event. Sturgis is a legendary event and features world class entertainment. The 2010 roster will include Bob Dylan and Bret Michaels. The event typically draws well over half a million people. The 2010 installment will run from August 9th to the 15th.

Tombstone, Arizona

They do call motorcycles “iron horses.” Tombstone, Arizona is an old west town that’s done a great job of preserving its old west heritage. That makes it a perfect destination for the modern cowboy that is a Harley rider.

No matter where you start and where you end up, any journey is more exciting when you make it on your Harley. Get out and enjoy the open road with any of these destinations and you’ll have an experience to remember for a lifetime.
