Hubs? This Bagger Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Hubs

If you’re in the market for a distinctive bagger that may or may not remind you of Tron, well, they don’t get much more unique than this one. But if you’re in the market for one with hubs, then keep moving.

This is Ballistic Cycles’ 30″ Hubless Wheel Harley-Davidson Bagger, complete with a full aluminum body and an air/liquid cooled twin turbo. Where it’s going, it doesn’t need hubs.

Whether or not you’re a fan of the central part of the wheel from which spokes traditionally radiate, you have to admit this is a beautifully constructed piece of machinery. You’d certainly be in good company too, as this bike won Baddest Bagger at the Full Throttle Saloon, Deadwoods’ Nastiest Bagger, and Best of Show at the Easy Rider Saloon — if we’re to believe the description of the rolling-hubless-at-Sturgis 2014 video below.

Here’s how Ballistic describes the technology on their website:

“The entire front end is completely one off and each and every part is custom for this feature. The hubless wheel is machined from a solid piece of billet, and the brake system is integrated into the wheel. The custom air cylinder is designed specifically for the load endured by the wheel and motorcycle. The mechanics behind the hubless wheel features all the latest technology and completely pushes the boundaries of what is possible.”
