Photo Gallery: Day One of the 2016 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
After record-breaking crowds from last year’s 75th anniversary rally, bikers that made the holy pilgrimage in 2016 expect a less crazy and crowded scene.
According to reports of local businesses, rally participants can surely expect smaller crowds, but the craziness at Sturgis is a must. Though last year’s estimated 510,000 visitors really rocked the boat.
The first day of the rally kicked off with the 2016 Mayor’s ride under the guidance of the Boz Bros, who led a large group of bikers through the Black Hills and into Mount Rushmore for a group picture with them and the Sturgis Mayor.
The celebrations continued with giveaways and the iconic cruise on the main boulevard and exhibits at the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame.
The first day of the rally doesn’t come to a close when the sun sets, instead, it comes alive with bars hosting all the bikers, plus concerts and many, many more attractions. Even the girls from the upcoming Discovery show, Harley and the Davidsons were present.
