Norwood Paladin is the kind of Harley-Davidson rider that we need more of in this world.

A combat veteran of the Gulf War, Paladin spent his life savings on a 2006 Road King and he was using it to travel around the country to make a documentary film honoring veterans.

He has been working on this project for the last two years, but last week all of his progress came screeching to a halt when his prized bike was stolen.

He left the bike in a secured garage, but when he returned, the bike was gone. The Portland native said he felt “violated,” and I could understand why.

This bike has been his entire life for the last two years of working on this film, which had portions screened at the Hollywood Cinema near Veteran’s Day, and now the one constant in his life has been taken.

If you have any information about the bike, Paladin’s friends have organized a cash reward of $1000. All information and leads should be directed to the Portland, Oregon police department.

The film itself is on indefinite hold while he handles the bike situation. When asked about a replacement he replied, “Even if I could, I don’t want another bike.”

I think we can all understand that feeling. You don’t just ride a bike on a journey like this; you bond with it.

We are all wishing you the best of luck in getting that bike back, Norwood.
