Is Harley Pushing for Ice Racing in the X Games a Good Idea?

Personally, I love the idea.

I didn’t see the Harley-sponsored exhibition ice racing event at the X Games in Aspen—I was glued to the Rolex 24 at Daytona, but I like the idea of ice racing Harleys in the world’s premier extreme sports competition. Given that the games already feature snowmobile jumping—which looks batshit insane—ice racing would dovetail right in with the rest of the events.

But I also think it’s also a perfect match for Harley, given the history the brand carved out at dirt tracks around the world. Ice racing is just dirt track, but on ice, right? And since I’m a big fan of the “win on Sunday, sell on Monday” school of advertising, I think it’d be a awesome way to show off the MoCo’s new Street 750, and get the bike screen time in front of some first time buyers.
