Default 02 road kind opinion... SHOULD I BUY?

ok, so Im comin into the money to get off my 05 sportster and am set on a road king... I was hoping to be able to get an 09 or up but financially I dont think thats going to be an option. I just took a look at a local bike for sale.. Itys an 02 road king.. definitley not new.. has a few paint chips here and there and some surface rust or peeling on a some of the chrome.. nothing that cant be cleanerd up and some things replaced.. I got him down to accept an offer of 5,500... but before i pulled the trigger, I wanted to get some opinions, overall thoughts, experience with this year bike, anything would help. I figured with the lower price, id have some money in the budget to replace some things and customize a bit.. it has 20,000 miles on it.. also, would it be a big improvement ride wise from my 05 1200c.. Im 225 pounds and 6'2". HERE ARE THE PICS OF IT

I wouldn't sell my 02 for twice what he's asking. Only thing I would warn about is the cam chain tensioners. At 20k they are due to be replaced either by swapping out or upgrade to the hydraulic cam plate. Either way 5500 is a steal.

good price, bike looks like it is decent shape. Will be a huge improvement over your sportster. Would buy it in a heartbeat if everything checks out. Could resell for probably 2-3k more if cleaned up and nothing wrong with it.

Check out the touring forums for issues. Nothing too major or costly to worry about.

It is a touring bike, made for long rides but fine around town as well. About the same size as you so you won't have any trouble handling it. Weighs considerably more than your sportster but I find it easier to maneuver than my wife's bike.

The price is great if all checks out and title is clean.
02 is a great year, bike looks good in pictures and fairly stock other than pinstripe.
Bike will be a nice step up for touring over the sporty. To improve comfort take a look at the heritage bars and there are lots of options for seats, it all depends what kind of look you are going for. Seats are easy to swap, around town I use a low profile, over 300 mile a day rides I switch to a customized street glide seat, over 500 mile days I use a Saddlemen seat.
