It raises the rev limit to 6200 and I'm sure there is a different fuel curve (map) also for the increase in flow, maybe even an ignition curve improvement too. It's a closely guarded secret that nobody seems to be sure of that I can find out talking to the techs at the dealers.

Street legal reflash is a rev limit bump
Race or SERT reflash is a rev limit and fuel bump

Here is another newbie question...If I just want to add the SE Stage 1 do I have to get the SERT or what needs to be done if I add it. Thanks

ECM stage one flash OR, SERT OR ,PCIII. If all you are doing, and all you plan to do, is a stage one air cleaner and exhaust, the flash is the easiest and cheapest way to go. If you plan future mods and could possibly be reflashing your ECM serveral times in the coming years, a SERT would be the more logical choice. PCIII is in between.

Will the ECM Stage 1 flash keep the engine from running hot? Will it work for all the different slip-ons out there or is it more specific to certain slip-ons? I think this is a good question that I don't remember reading on this forum.

Ride safe,
