Default my ride to sturgis

well just got back from the rally. rode two up on my 06 Eglide standard. on fri aug 3 we rode 600 miles from greeneville tn to bloomington Il. on sat aug 4 we rode 1020 miles from bloomington Il to sturgis south dakota. we hit a fair bit of weather both days. second day took us 20 hours. we rode 1000 miles while we were there enjoying all the sites we could fit in and then left on Friday the 10th we rode 600 miles from sturgis to a hotel 100 miles west of des moines iowa, then on sat the 11th we rode from there all the way back home to greeneville tennessee for another 1050 miles. I can tell you that I am still recovering from the long rides but it was worth every second of it. now going to trade the 06 in for new ultra.

Impressive miles for sure. I got down there too. I had only one day off from work, so we got up eary Thursday, went all the way there, 250 miles. Spent the entire day in the madness and then turned around and came back. Got home just before midnight. Your miles definitely have me beat.

Glad to hear you rode. Nothing's worst than the sight of a touring bike on a trailer.

When i go from Indy I do Iron Butt rides there. Fastest was 1100 miles in 19 hours with 8 stops for gas. That was in 4 hours of the hardest rain I ever rode in. Usually leave Indy around 2 AM. Lots of fun going but it's a very long ride back. Hope to get back there next year on a new Ultra 2013 Limited

the 1000 mile ride up we hit alot of rain it took is 20 hours. but the ride back was sunshine all the way we did it in 16 hours. I'm pretty sure that clasifies as an iron butt ride lol.

My hat's off to you for making the trips so quickly. My wife and I would like to get up that way one of these days. Ain't no way we're gonna get there in 2 days, though. We probably wouldn't recover.

We both rode...there was a ton of trailers on the road too.....

Yes that would qualify, you have to have gas receipts from when you started, every gas stop and other stops i.e. restaurants receipts etc., and gas stop when finished to verify times. You also need a witness which could be your wife, she deserves a medal also. Go to their website if your interested.

Oh but it sure was nice sitting in my truck during the 5 hours of rain we drove through.
