When i apply my front brakes they make noise, not like metal on metal but more like a sshhhhhhh noise. Hard to explain. Not really a screech either. They are original pads with 3k miles on them and look like new

I would think that is the brakes doing their job, grabbing the rotor to slow you down. You hear a lot more stuff than you do in your car, your car's brakes are making noise also.
None of my other bikes have made this noise. Its almost as if my pads have sandpaper glued on them. But the pads are smooth and rotor is fine. I dont get it
It was actually a serious question. My brakes are making noise and i cant figure it out. Sorry i cant describe the noise its making to your liking. Since you obviously have no helpful information, please dont bother writing anything. Thanks
The noise you describe sounds like what typically happens with vented discs. When the brakes are applied and the pads pass over the vent holes it makes a noise like that. Nothing to worry about.
My front brake speaks the same language...I kinda like it - I think I would miss it if I didn't have it! I mentioned it to my local mechanic when changing tires and pads - he said it was normal.

I have to agree. Mine made noise from day one. It's actually hard to describe the sound but what he said..^
