My review of my new SE 204 cams
Well I picked her up yesterday afternoon and my first impression of the cams are, WOW. When I fired her up the first time I noticed the sound, is louder and the idle has a much better lope to it. After riding a few miles and getting everything up to temp I started playing with her, I have to say I did not expect that much more pull and power, she pulls hard thru all the gears and up to 5,000 rpms, I almost never rev her that high but just could not resist seeing how she would perform, am very happy with the SE 204 cams and the whole tensioner upgrade kit and oil pump. I asked for the old parts back and took some pics of the tensioners and oil pump, the tensioners had 8k miles on them, they had uneven wear and what looked like little bits out of them, the outer tensioner had the most wear, the oil pump had scoring inside of it and that was probably why the oil pressure was low, pressure is much better now. All in all I am very happy with Se 204 cams and the peace of mind knowing those old tensioners are gone and not having to worry when they will fail.

I have these cams in my 04 FXDXI and I agree with you, it now sounds like a Harley and runs great! Gas mileage took a bit of a hit though. Mine were installed when doing the cam tensioner upgrade kit.

The only other engine mods are, it has a stage one on it, pipes and SE carb kit.
I have the Screamin Eagle hyd tensioner kit, pushrods, lifters, and cams were extra, out the door price was $1,500. I am planning on doing a big bore after the first of the year, the SE 204 cams will work great for that as well. I am very happy I chose the 204's, it feels and sounds like a different bike.

I went slightly a different way. I chose the Andrews 48H, together with a big bore kit and ported heads. Yes, it cost a little bit. But the result is fantastic. My hp number went by 50%, my torque went up by 40%, both over the full rpm range. I am very happy and I am looking forward for the next riding season.
