Thinking about cams and heads for.my 06 TC88. I think Andrews 26 cams, but I want to put new heads on to take full advantage of them. I'm leaving the bore alone for the time being, but I have cylinders available for boring later. Friends tell me I'd be happy with heads and cams.

Question is, which heads? And what is HTCC?

I'm after torque and power up to around the 4500 mark. I ride two up most of the time on a RG.

 

theres a number of bike builders/machine shops that can redo your heads. Install bigger valves replace valve guides, port/polish , ect for around 750.00 price, way better than buying heads for performance. Dave Mackie in Cali, is just one who does great work, but there are many more. Zippers performance is close to you, dark horse in Wisconsin. do a search here and you will find more

With such a mild cam,headwork is not really needed.If you want to still go for it,move up to an SE204 a very mild port job and a cometic .036 gasket . i had my last heads done by bigboyz up in Maine

You want your bike to just breathe a little better, find a set of used 2007 and up stock heads with beehive springs 150.00 to 200.00 bucks everywhere. The ports are opened up the valve size is a bit bigger and you should get about 20% more flow all around. Cheap easy solution .

As for why do it like this, everyone swears I will be happy with that setup. A bigger bore won't make that much difference with a good set of heads and cam . In a small block Chevy I would be inclined to agree. With the Harley I don't know.

 

The chevy is a short stroke motor, Harley isn't. The bore will also bring with it higher compression pistons to take advantage of more cam. Later heads flow better and can handle more lift. Big bore + midrange cam + newer heads = bang for the buck HP!

 

I second the SE 204's, the 26 is smaller, you will be happier with the SE 204 when doing some head work, I sure was
