I really wasn't going to do anything more to the bike for a while, but I got this new pair of boots that were obviously bigger than my old pair. The short of it is that I found myself hanging my left foot out off the floorboard more than often so I bought the billet extended shift levers and picked them up a week or so ago.

I did the install this afternoon (a quick 15 minutes) and seeing as how nice the weather was today, took the bike for a spin (YEA!). Goodness me! Why didn't I do this a long time ago? Amazing what a couple of inches of extra room feels like! Now I'm thinking that moving the boards forward and outward might be a worth while endeavor. Possibly Harley Goodies? Of course if I go that route I'll probably want to extend the rear brake peddle.

Great- now I gotta buy those too! Just got new boots also and the toe doesn't slide under like my old ones did. By the way the brake pedal is a good investment- longer and lower is what they all should be- I never figured out why Harley wants you to bend your ankle so far back with the stock pedal.

 

I had extended levers and they were great.
When I bought lowers for my RK, my riding boots hit the edges and I had to buy new boots that were a smaller profile (Danners). Lowers became even more expensive.

 

OK, here goes. I don't have any "before" pics but the levers were stock 09 Road King.

As you can see, I'm thinking that Moving the boards up and out might give my feet "room to swim in". As far as boots not fitting under the toe lever, that's a quick 5 minute fix. Pull the levers and reinstall slightly higher. After 2 minutes of riding I decided that the heel lever was to high and re-adjusted it. Now that the toe lever is at a "correct" height, I'm finding neutral MUCH easier.

I installed the Walters Workshop rear shifter and extended brake leaver along with the Harley Goodies extensions and now have plenty of room to move my feet around on the boards.

 

I have been thinking about putting some extended shift levers on my Street Glide, I have seen some on e bay for around $40.00. Good price???????????
