I was in the local dealership today and the salesman confirmed that Road Glides will NOT be produced past 2013.

The reason he said is the tooling to produce the frame mounted fairings on the RG is shot..... And that they are re-tooling for a different frame mounted fairing touring bike?

Just passing on what I heard. Take it for what its worth

 

I heard that EXACT same reason today at Killer Creek HD. I'd be willing to bet that the bike makes a come-back in one form or another. Just give it a year for the demand to build.

The 2014 RG is water cooled 150 hp 7 speed transmission.
I figured i should build it up to something before someone else does.

 

I heard 9 speed,with an automatic doo rag cooler for rider comfort.

I guess we'll see when we see, anything is possible. I'd take a hard look at a RG with a Vrod motor.

 

My salesman (woman) (who usually gets her info from me) said they got the list of discontinued models for 2014 and both RG models were on it.
However it did have a note about being "reintroduced" in 2014. So we'll have to wait until August to find out.

Also on the list was the Electra Glide Classic and the Road King Classic (the one with the leather bags)

 

Any other breaking newz that hasn't been discussed?

 

Nah, still 6 speed but with a Baker reverse transmission. Baker does make a 7 speed but doubt HD will go that route.
