Stock head pipes w/free flowing slipon mufflers are the best bang for the buck exhaust.

Drag pipes suck for street use, and are horribly inefficient at anything less than a very narrow RPM range at WOT.

Look on Craigslist and eBay - lots of stock pipes available for cheap.

Why? Have you checked for upgraded air cleaner and jetting? What is "stock with drag pipes" supposed to mean? How about lollipops or DK Torque inserts if you have a flat spot?

I think they mean a stock bike except for the drag pipes.
+1 on carb & air cleaner upgrade. Go forwards, not backwards....

Put an air cleaner on and run the he'll out of it. I ran drag pipes for years. Just fine.

Stock bike with the exception of drag pipes is what I meant. There is absolutely nothing else done to the bike.

If you like the sound of the drag pipes, leave em on and put some W118 Thunder Torques in them. You'll gain some serious low and mid range power and the tone will deepen a little.

You can also shove a bolt threw the end of the drag pipes, 1/4" bolt on each pipe. A bolt threw 1 3/4 open drag pipes will run with any baffle or tq cone out there, hands down.
