Stereo install on FLHTP

Stereo install on FLHTP
This might be something that's been covered in the past but I tried searching and I haven't been able to find anything.
I am waiting for delivery of my 2011 FLHTP (EG Police) and have started ordering the necessary components to install a stereo, but as I'm getting the parts I'm starting to wonder if this is something I will be able to install or if I need a pro.
Here's what I ordered:
Alpine iDA-X3055 Multi-Media Stereo
Polk DXi650 6.5" Speakers (2 for fairing)
5.25 to 6.5" adapter rings from Cycle Sounds
BikeTronics BT1000 MK installation kit
BikeTronics Splash guard
I don't think I'm going to use an amp (unless you think I'll need it).
I've done car stereo installations in the past, but without an existing connector I'm not sure how to do this installation. The police bike doesn't have anything in there, so how do I install this stereo?
Do I need any additional wiring?
Any help would be very very much appreciated. I posted on retiredpolicebikes.com but haven't had any help.
Thanks!!

Whoa--I assumed the BT install kit was only the hardware needed to physically install the radio. If it also includes the module for handlebar control of the radio, you'll need civilian right side handlebar switches and rewiring the interconnect harness.
My early reference to a simple installation meant that you can hook up the radio and speakers, but you won't have handlebar controls.

No the BT Install kit doesn't include the module for the handle bar controls, and the 2011 EG Police Bikes do not have handlebar controls. The BT kit includes the filler kit for around the radio, the mounting hardware for inside the fairing, and the antenna. I also ordered the splash guard separately to keep the radio dry when I'm giving the bike a bath.
I got the Alpine because it has a nice big volume **** so I won't have to fumble around with gloves on.
I am just interested in the simple install. I just want to connect the stereo to the speakers and it sound good!
Thanks for your help guys!
