I have a 2013 Ultra classic and was wanting to know which aftermarket oil filters are the best to use. I'm looking for an increase in MPG.

 

Welcome to the forum. You can expect some interesting answers since oil filters and fuel mileage are not related.

 

You expect an oil filter to help in mpg? Lemme know how that works out for ya. If you want a good quality oil filter that is user friendly because of the nut welded on the end to make removal easier, then I suggest the K&N filter.

 

I like the Harley filters...

 

why would you do that? have you ever checked filter tests,being a lifetime wrench and seeing dammage done by aftermarket parts I would never run anything but oem,

 

K&N oil filters!!

 

I like the Amsoil filters,and i've tried every oil filter (except mesh/screen) including bosch and purolator. These give me less blowby and i'm pretty sure they're made in the USA.

 

Something smells fishy...

 

I noticed that K&N's are recommended for increased performance. Saw a review that someone had an increase of 5-10mpg between fill ups from changing to a K&N using a 99' Road King . I read off AMS oil's website that better oil flow through a filter increases efficiency. Better efficiency often leads to less work meaning less fuel and or more power. Just wanted to see if anyone else noticed a difference if they had switched from stock filters.
