Default Fatboy seat removal

Going to hookup battery tender on my bike but after loosening all 3 seat screws, unable to remove seat.I know to pull rearward but just how hard? Have learned with many years experience that's it's best not to force things. Tends to get expensive when you dont ask or read instructions. Any help is appreciated.

I know on mine, i have to pry one of the sides loose before the seat will move. There's a little lip that the side screws sit on.....just unscrewing them won't let me remove my seat. Got kinda frustrating the first time.

Hmmm, don't have any problem removing mine from my 07 FB. After removing the pillion, and if I recall the strap is bolted down, then remove the two large bolts that attach to the lip of the main seat and then it should slid back and off.

First time for anything is a little difficult . Make sure that you have the passenger seat off and also the "grab strap". The grab strap can sometimes get in the way. Lossen the screws all the way (so you can't feel them grab anything). I would then put a towel down over the back fender and "drape it" over the sides of the bike. Wiggle the seatback and forth and pull away from the tank. It should come out fairly easily.

Good Luck!

My experience was the same as TinG's. Eventhough backed out all the way, the side screws were the culprit. GENTLY pry one of the sides and you should be good to go.

Yup. I agree here. Giggle the sides after you have the two screws completely loose and my grab strap has a snap in the middle that has to be undone in order to get the seat to fit through it. Don't forget to snap it back up when putting the seat back on.
