In the market soon for a 2013 Orange Road Glide Custom. Thinking August time frame.

1) What the chances I will find one without getting raped?
2) Will I be able to order one if no dealerships in my area have one?
3) Looking for ABS / security as well. Yea I read the forums about which is better but I want it. I am paying and it will make me happy.
4) Or save cash and wait till they come back out in 2015?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!!

 

I would grab one while you can still find one. Due to the fact that they will be gone next year for the redesign, there is a possibility you wont find exactly what you want. I would not get a first year on a redesign, there will be many bugs to work out.

It's just a few more payments if you buy now.

... I'd imagine that all the dealers final orders are already in & set to be delivered soon ...as the MoCo will need to get the lines set up to produce the (non-Road Glide) '14s that will start arriving @ the dealers in late August.
....... since you know exactly what you want, i'd search dealers w/i a days ride to locate that orange shark & start dealin'
........ lots of dealers have been stocking up on '13 RGs in anticipation of the sabbatical their taking in '14 ..... look around, they'll be even harder to find come Fall.

 

Yeah....from what the dealership told me when a buddy was looking for one that after May...you werent going to be able to order...so if u find one u better jump..otherwise u wont have a whole lot of options THAT late in the year.

 

Get it now, not August. That particular color seems to be a popular choice, and I am often surprised when I see one sitting on a dealership floor.

That said, Pikes Peak HD has one, though not sure about ABS/Sec/Cruise. Would be a fun ride home for you!

Oh, and about the ABS/Sec/Cruise - I would get all three if the choice were up to me. ABS is great to have, security is nice too, but the cruise is icing on the cake, especially if do long rides.

 

IMO you need to get moving now, August will be very little to choose from.

 

I'd go ahead and get one if you really want it.

Get a FLTRU, it has ABS and Security standard. Add a TP Detach kit and you can strip it down to be an FLTRX when you want.

[edit] just noticed that the FLTRU doesnt come in that color.
