Default removing the Ignition Lock Cylinder?

Buddy of mine just picked up his 2006 Road Glide. He is tearing it down to custom paint and asked me if I could find the procedure for removing the ignition lock cylinder on the Road Glides.

Anyone have this information?

Not absolutely sure on this , but try inserting the key and turn it LEFT fully I think, it opens up a small hole that you depress a tab in it and it releases the cylinder. I'm winging it , but it may work

Ted,

I have a copy of the directions for removal on EG models. Not sure if RG ignition is the same or not. Can post if you still haven't figured it out.

Tell your buddy the best money he will ever spend on his RG is a service manual!!

1. Insert key into switch
2. Turn fully to right (acc)
3. Depress button under switch ****
4. Key will turn further to right.
5. Remove key and switch .

Hope this helps

the button he is refering too is a very small almost peice of wire that sticks down, if you use something like a hook dental pick or maybe a very small screwdriver to push it it will be easier. I think i might have used the truck keys to do it with last time but i forget?
