Default Brake Caliper Rebuild Kit for '09 Touring Bikes?

Hey folks, I'm looking into rebuilding my rear caliper (2009 FLHX w/ABS).

I've heard about rebuild kits but I'm having a hard time drumming up product information. I've tried Google, Eastern Performance, Drag Specialties and H-D.

Anybody know where I might find a kit that includes pistons, seals, gaskets, etc.?

Thanks.

I also found this part

BRAKE CALIPER REBUILD KIT 2K+ FOR 2000-UP HARLEY'S

But I'm coming up empty-handed when it comes to fitment.

Anybody know anything about that part?

HD does not offer rebuild kits for Brembo calipers. You might be able to get individual parts from HERE:http://www.tawvehicle.com/brembo.php, give them a shout and ask. Other than that, buy the caliper 44080-08B $176 if you need one.

as dog stated, Harley does not sell rebuild kits for them. I emailed TAW ahile back looking for internal parts, but they never got back to me. I jhad my brembos show chromed and wanted new seal, but I just reused the old ones and bought a new right side takeoff from a forum member so I have some extra seals. My old ones worked fine though. I am thinking of sending the 3 different orings out to a seal and shim manufacturer, to see if they can match them up with ones that would fit. Let us know how you make out.

Thanks for the info. If I can't come up with pistons and seals I'll just buy a full replacement caliper from H-D.

I see that Chicago Harley has it for ~$140.

i'm just curious, if you're having trouble with your brake caliper and it's an 09, then isn't it covered with harleys warranty? sure, pads, tires etc, are not covered, but surely the calipers would be for the two years.

Thanks for suggesting that. I'm a get it used & rebuild it guy, so "warranty" doesn't typically factor into my vocabulary.

Just got off the phone with HD and now trying to figure out how to get this "new" bike over to the dealer.

Thanks.

i'm really glad you took the advice for the warranty. it sure beats replacing the caliper, and at least harley is the one who has to eat the cost rather than you.

Default Brembo brake caliper

About a year ago I contacted Brembo here in the states. According to them, they are on the distributor side of the company and do not build or offer parts for Brembo calipers. The company is in Itally.
The reason I contacted them is because I want to replace the stock calipers on my 2000 FXD with the Brembo calipers and maintain the DOT3 brake fluid.
Of course, the alternative is to rebuild my master cylinders and use DOT4.
At one time, Drag Specialties offered a rebuild kit, but no more. (I snoozed ....)
Does anyone have any further intel?
