Default engine misfire

05 fatboy tc88 with carb. went to ride my scoot today after it has been sitting for 2 mths.it was extremly hard to start, poping and backfiring. i went ahead and warmed it up and took it for about a 20 mile ride. but it never cleared up. came home pulled and checked air filter for water, check carb to see if it was squirting ok. pulled plugs to see they were firing.spark looked weak but did not have a way to test at home, this bike hasalways ran perfect, only has 5000 miles on it. but it sounds like a car with crossed plug wires. i guess i will get a new set of plugs tomorrow. any ideas or advice would be apperciated. my ouestion is does this model have ingnition problems any one knows of. scratching my head

Bad gas or water in it perhaps?

Did you put Stabil in the tank. Gas starts to gum after about 6 weeks.

no didnt use any stabile, never have had to in any of my other equipment or toys, even my boat.i usually dont let it sit that long, but i had surgery on my left hand and didnt get to ride for awhile. possibly could be fuel or water.just feels like ingnition misfire. but draining and refilling with fresh fuel is easy and cheap to try..

not mech. but sound's like old gas, try draining all gas out, put some good 93proof premium, and take it back out on highway and drive it like you stole it, that may get that old varnish gas out and clean your bowl, plus would not hurt to put a jigger or two of some octane boost, that might save you a trip to dealer, and i really don't think you need to change plug's, just get that old gas out, if you can try to remove your carb. bowl ,and empty and clean it as much as you can. just my 2 cent's.GOOD LUCK.

here's my dyno, please let me know if o.k, so i can fix what you suggest.
Since I saw dyno's and air fuel ratio, not to brag to much, but I have perfect air fuel ratio, straight as arrow on 13% , and with only s.e.r.t, D&D Boarzilla, K&N, 8mm plug wire's, and allway's use EXXON 93 octane, for door stop 103c.I c.v.o, I'm making more than new 07's, I can't believe some of these guy's 70H.P 75 Tourqe and most have mods. in engine, but i'm not going to mess with the lady's bagger 145H.P 175Tourqe, and the one's making 10 to 20 more H.P have spent thousand's on engine mods.and mech. fee's make's me proud of my bike and I think motor will last longer ,and less problem's and it was also allmost 100 degree's and high humidity , so I don't think I will spend money on engine mods. Hell if horsepower was real important to me would have spent half of my harley and bought hyabusa and probably kill self, that's way to much power, and just enough to not be able to stop my rant of day.

That's a pretty nice lookin' Dyno sheet for a stage 1 103. Niceflat torque bandall the way across and nice rise on the HP band. Not much you can do with that, your tuner did a real nice job. You might be giving up a littile bit on the bottom end of the RPM range but it dosn't look like you'd feel it.When your ready for more you can get the heads ported and some gear drive cams and you'll be on your way to 120 hp. I'd say around $1500.00 for the parts and another $300-500 for labor and you'll have a real fast bike.
