Wipe Gas Tank With Paper Towels
You would be supprised how many times I have ben in a gas station and seen another biker getting fuel . They have the fuel nozzle in one hand and holding the spout with a paper towel in the other. I'm amazed at how many when done fueling will hang up the nozzle then take the paper towel and wipe around the fill cap if not the entire area around the cap. This brings me to the point, Scratches, How many post do you read wanting to know how to remove scratches, it's easy, don't wipe your bike with paper towels. HELLO..........

RE: Wipe Gas Tank With Paper Towels
Ialways use the paper towels, at the pumps, when I fill up. Idunk the wadded towel into the water, used to clean the car windsheilds and gently wipe around the cap area. I don't get the paint wet enough to require the use of a dry towel. I haven't got any scratches yet.
There is no way I would take a dry paper towel and rub it on any of my vehicles' paint surfaces.

RE: Wipe Gas Tank With Paper Towels
Take the paper towel and hold it on the end of the gas nozzle..any drips will be caught by it and there will be no reason to wipe the tank.

You will find that 90% of micromarring (swirls, scratches, etc) comes from improper washing and drying techniques.
