103 Cu In Upgrade
I was wondering if anyone can give me a Ballpark range of how many hours the Stealers are charging to do the Screamin Eagle 103 upgrade from the 96? This is on a new SG they say that anything that is done at time of delivery is warratied as stock. I need to make a quick decision bike is coming this week. I would like the comfort thatr this is covered by warranty, I had planed to do this down the road but now need to reconsider. Any feedback is appreciated!!!

RE: 103 Cu In Upgrade
Isn't there a stsage I and stage II ?? Somewhat of a difference in hrs and cost due to the addition of cams in the stage II............I'm having the stage II done on a '08 RG soon and they charged me 6 hrs for the install... and said if it takes less they'll charge me the hrs the job took.... when I did the 95 stage II on my softail they charged me 5 hrs with the same time estimated.

Looking at the 103 upgrade too during the winter on a 07 EGC. There are two types:
[ul][*]Screamin' Eagle® Big Bore Stage I Kit for EFI Models - 103ci - $640.00[*]Screamin' Eagle® Street Legal Big Bore Stage II Kit for EFI Models - 103ci (-Kit includes catalyst mufflers & new cams) $1200.00[/ul]
Wonder if there is much difference (HP/Torque)? I prefer to stay with non-cat mufflers.

You can get the Stage II kit without the CAT slip-ons ( I did) and have much better power, still under warranty. It's 899+ the slip ons so it works out about the same.
I've got about 2500 miles on my 103 and am very pleased.I rode 900 miles with the 96" and it was OK , but the 103 stage II really ought to be the base engine for baggers.
I'd also plan on getting SERT , it makes a difference.

My 103 Stage II was just under $4K...added before delivery, so 24 mo. warranty is still good.
Working backwards, $1,200 for the kit (w/ 255 cams) $450 for the SERT, $899 for the Rineharts, $245 for the VP Clutch, that leaves aprox $1K for the install and a couple of hours on the Dyno.
Considering I added 20% to the base price of the bike, I think I got WAY more than 20% imroved performance.
Good luck with your build. I'm sure you will love it!
