RE: What is the Horsepower on '07 stock 96 CI Harley
I saw an article posted on youtube recently about the new 96ci motor. They dyno'ed the stock motor at 65 hp and approximately 82lbs. ft TQ. Harley also has a dyno sheet comparison of their stock motor and one with some performance exhaust attached. Peak TQ is 82lbs ft TQ and 65 hp. The dyno sheet can be found under the accessories section of Harley's web page under the sub heading exhaust.

I have an 06 superglide 88that is stock other than the baffles taken out and my buddy has an 07 96 softtail that is stock except for v & h short shots and we were neck and neck up to 100mph when we both let off, I was really suprised!

Yeah, the correct answer should be "who gives a $hit" IMHO. Torque is what moves it, by the time you are hitting peak hp on a stock motor you are hitting your rev limiter. And when you go to upgrade it go for torque and let the hp fall where it may... Sure it might sound cool to talk say you have a 100/100 bike, but I think pretty much anyone who knows their stuff would rather have a 110tq/62hp (I don't think those #s are possible, pretty sure hp would still be higher, but you get my point).
More specifically, anyone know how much torque I need to pull the front wheel up in first on my low rider?
