I am considering a slight rake and extending the forks. I want the very least in rake and extension. I just want a litte more room between tire and frame, and maybe 2" higher in front. I am not after the attention grabbing chopper look. Just the slighest change from stock. What can expect to pay for a first class job, ride quality or handling changes? I ride a lot of twisty roads, because of the twisties, should I forget the extension?

 

******, here's where I got mine from. They offer a 9 deg, which might be what you are looking for. Mine is a 14 deg & they offer an 18 deg. Go through the pics, they have some before & afters. They are really knowledgable & will answer any question you may have. A riding buddy of mine just added a 14 deg kit to his. Two girls we ride with are ordering the 9 deg. You won't be disapointed if you decide to go with their kit.

Forgot to mention. I also ride a lot of county twisty roads. It rides just as it did stock. You can lay it down in the corners with confidence.

 

Redhawk - does that use the origonal forks? - they look a lot wider

 

You change the trees, bearings & fork tubes. Here's a pic of what you get in the kit. It does change it to a wide glide front end.

 

Thats the only thing I don't like, the Wide front looks "outta place" on a Sporty. To me. It doesn't look bad or anything, just "outta place" or "to wide" for a Sporty. From the side it's badass!

wow save 200 - what a bargin. Interesting and definatly a cool idea - but pricey in my opinion - wish it wasn't so wide I'll pass.

 

It's a mod not everybody has got though, make you stand out in a crowd.

Rusty, been letting this percolate for a bit, just to see what came up. After reading & re-reading your original post, here's my suggestion.

Get a set of 3 degree bearing cups, and a set of 2 or 4 inch over tubes. The 4 inch over would probably give you the slight rise in the front end you talked about. If after installing these it doesn't quite look like what you were after, then think about cutting the neck and kicking it out. Use some 3 - 5 degree raked trees to keep your trail at a reasonable level.
