Wide Glide Mini Apes on 883L
Looking to install a set of stock mini apes, cables, and risers off of my o6 Wide Glide to my wife's 05 883L. Will the Wide Glide cables, brake line and risers fit on the 883?
I was told at the stealer that the Wide Glide cables would not fit, (May be trying to sell me something I don't need). Also, would I need a wiring extension?
The Sporty is presently configured with the stock buckhorn bars.
Thanks for any info.

The apes on my Nightster came from a Wideglide. The dealer had to order new cables to fit but the existing Nightster wiring harness fit OK and did not have to be replaced. I imagine the 883L would be the same.

Thanks for the feedback.
I have the stock cables, 1 1/4 mini apes, risers, and brake line from my wideglide sitting in a box, from when I converted to Street Slammers. Was hoping someone would chime in as to these parts fitting the 883L. Would save me a bunch of money from purchasing new cables and brake parts. Good to know I may have enough wiring harness in the Sporty for the added height.

I can't see any reason why it would not work excpet for maybe the length of the clutch cable and possibly needing to ext. the wire harness. IF you already have the stuff why not mock it up and see? I'm running wideglide/street bob minis on mine but with 3" round top risers and I replaced all cables except thottle/ide and ext. the wires.

Thanks for the info. You bike has the look I'm trying to achieve on my wife's sporty.
Could you tell me what length clutch and brake cables you used in case the Dyna cables are too long?
How long of wiring extension did you need? Thanks.

Hey Jug,
I used a 44" russell braided SS brake line and a 59" drag spec. clutch cable. The clutch cable could be a bit longer depending upon how you route it (example through the trees) but fit fine mounting the way the stock one is. I soldered in about 6" maybe more wiring extension (get the cheap ext. kit from JP or Dennis kirk to simplify things). All this works fine with my 3" risers so assumming your stock are 1-2" risers means it will work fine. There is a rear view shot in my gallery so you can gauge the hgt with my bars on 3" risers. By the way, I ran my switch wires internal so this accounts for a little more lenght on the wire ext. I also re-routed the stock throttle/idle cables outside the trees for the time being vs. buying new ones (been that way for 10k miles) but plan to change them out for some 36-38" braided for better fit later.
Good luck & let me know if I can help with any more info.
