RE: Front End Bottoming Out After Installing Chrome Sliders
Is it bottoming out, shocks going all the way down? or when you hit a bump is it just hitting hard? When I did mine I put just a little to much oil in and it was like having a rigid front end. So I drained the oil and put the right amount in, I had to double check. I put my wifes new measuring cup on a nice flat surface and made sure I had 11.1 oz. The bike was fine after that, it doesn't take much to get that hard ride, I think I was only over .3 like 11.4 oz. Hope this helps.

Installed chrome sliders on my RK Custom today and now the front end is bottoming out over bumps. I put the amount of fork oil specified by the Service Manual (11.1 ozs. Harley Type E ) Any ideas?

RE: Front End Bottoming Out After Installing Chrome Sliders
I boughteverything all ready assembled. All I did was add 11.1 ozs. of oil. The front end would actually bottom out and clang. I could push down on the front end and there was little to no rebound. I have sense added3 more ozs. of oil to each side. It no longer bottoms out, but is a little stiff now. Why would I have to add that much more oil to stiffenup the front end?
