Default Bendix Carb - 74 Ironhead

Fired up by bike a few times on the center stand to search for and work out any bugs that may be present. I rebuilt the e-bay bendix I bought and installed an adjustable main jet kit, other than the initial bendix installation settings. I Haven't done any dialing in or tuning up. Actually I was surprised at how nice it wenton initial start upconsidering everything was boxes of pieces not long ago ...HOWEVER, one concern I do have is what seems to be an intermittent gas overflow problem....it doesn't happen everytime, butit only takes ONCE to potentially ruin an otherwise beautiful day...Sure would be nice if I could narrow it down without going too deep into it...any suggestions or technical insight would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks

Are there any other size designations for the #5 O-Rings? Tried to find them on the web
and don't seem to be having any luck with that number. McMaster Carr uses different characters.

Where did you get the rebuild kit for the Bendix? I always had a lot of problems with the el-cheapo imported ones, especially with the float bowl valve. Look at the seat in the carb very closely, and also make sure you aren't getting trash in the bowl.

I buy my 'O' rings for my Bendix in the plumbing dept of Lowes. They are hanging on pegs in order of number (#5,#6 etc) where the faucet repair kits are located.
You can get a bag of #5 or #6 with 10 rings in the bag for $1.29. Cheapest Harley fix I ever encountered.........pg
