Default History of Street Glide?

Hopefully someone out there can answer this. I've come over from the Softail forum to ask how long the Street Glide has been around. Here at work, we've been asking each other this, and can't come up with a solid answer.
Thanks!

2006 as stated above.

The only model year with 1450cc engine and 5 speed tranny.

Not that that's a selling point with a new bigger engine and a six speed fro 2007 and beyond.

Also the only model year where you could still get a carbureted version as well as EFI.

More than you asked for but heck I was on a roll !

Cool, thanks! I was one of those in the wrong... I coulda sworn the Street Glide went back to '01, '02. One o' those will be my next Harley, I think. It'd be nice to get behind a fairing for a while!

BTW, Primo... Niiice![sm=icon_rock.gif]

Correct, 2006 was the first year.
But, if I'm not mistaken, there were bikes before that used the FLHX model designation. I wanna say 80's.
