How many cables/wires will I have to chnage to put mini apes on my ride?&nbsp\\; Is this something I can do or should I have the dealer do it?

Do it yourself. At most you will need to change out the clutch cable, throttle and idle cables, and the brake line.I did it so can you.&nbsp\\;

 

Things you may need to do for the apes, depending on big of apes you go, or how much over stock you go (assuming your bike is stock).
1&nbsp\\;throttle cable &amp\\; 1 idle cable&nbsp\\;
1 front brake line
clutch cable
wiring harness extension
&nbsp\\;
Again, all this depends on how much you change it, good luck

 

I have an 07 FXDL and yes you have to change the cabling, brake line, and wiring but if it is the fat mini apes you are installing then you will have to find and alternate way to mount the indicator lights on the riser clamp.&nbsp\\; Since the fat mini apes are thicker than the stock bars the clamp will not fit resulting in you needing to find another way to mount the indicator lights.&nbsp\\; If you check out Drag Specialties they have some great options to the stock set up allowing installation of the fat mini apes.&nbsp\\; I was going to add the fat mini apes myself because of the positioning and the ability to wire internally without binding wires.&nbsp\\; I decided against it after I added it all up and also realized for long distance riding I prefer my hands lower.

stock # for street bob and lowrider cables are the same....will need to reroute cables in front of bars....If you keep those pullback risers then cable change will need to be made...

 

I was only thinking about the same handle bars that is on the wide glide...they are 1 " or the same size.

 

Then it will be a breeze since you don't have to worry about the clamp.&nbsp\\; Please let me know how it goes and post a pic because I was thinking about doing the ape hangers too.&nbsp\\;
