2001 springer st, hard to start and is backfiring at idle,no codes will come up .but a twin scan 2 shows the timing to be different on one cylinder at idle and low rpm.plugs, cables, coil are good three days of this is getting old help...........,
I checked for a air leak around the intake but I will do a leakdown test on it, this bike has 15000 mile on it ,I can"t understand why there is 10 degrees different in timing \\; between cylinders,.
It's common to see AFR and timing to jump all over the place at idle due to the MAP pulses. The timing and AFR \\; should mellow out off idle though.
today I unpluged the MAP sensor and the bike ran good, as soon as iI plug it back in it starts backfiring again. I have another MAP that I put in the throttle body and put the wires on the other one and let it hang ang it runs good and the light dont stay on ,what do I do next.
After all the checking the customer said the ecm had a hd download in it but with a twin scan 2 it didnt show that,I put a new ecm on the bike and now it runs good.. thinks for the input
