changing oil on street bob

Default changing oil on street bob

Any of you guys tell me why im finding it so hard to get the oil out of my street bob. Engin hot tip it on its side still have to use pump to get old oil out, no owners manual with the bike, is there something im missing? Thanks.

You are missing a service manual. Get one for $50 from your dealer. well worth the investment. Your engine drain plug is the one on the left side that faces straight sideways down where the jiffy is. If the oil won't drain out of there then it is not returning to the tank and that is a different issue.

Thanks mate. over here in UK harley take the **** with there prices, £58 for a servise manual, im not poor im proud, thanks for your help, I took drain plug out but the oil would not come out, I put a suction pump to it and got the oil out that way. I thought Harley in there infinate wisdom had put a release valve on the engin some where. will get servise manual of ebay. Thanks

When you refer to the drain plug, your are not referring to any plug on the engine are you?

When you drained it did you also remove the oil filter? That should make it shotgun like a beer.

I always change engin and gearbox oil at same time, both drain plugs were off .

No I did not have oil filter off at the time, good suggestion will make sure I will take oil filter off next time, Thanks for your help.
